The story behind the Skype4Outlook Toolbar:Like many international companies, we have staff in several different countries and were looking for a way to increase communication amongst team members while decreasing our telecommunications costs.
In early 2004 we discovered Skype and many of our staff members got hooked. They used Skype to Skype for internal communications and teleconferencing more frequently than email and our productivity increased by 25%. When our management board dug deeper we found that we had actually reduced our phone bill by 44% during the same period. The board members decided to invest the savings and challenge the team to build a tool to further reduce phone costs and promote VOIP technology. A few weeks laterm the Skype4Outlook Toolbar concept was born.
As of Spring 2005, our phone bill has dropped an amazing 76% since starting the initiative. The reason is simple. We made using Skype easier & faster than dialing a number on an ordinary phone! We could have sold this plugin many times over and licensed the technology to others for even more cash in our pockets but, our focus is delivering the best possible results for your web searches so we decided to offer our fabulous Skype4Outlook toolbar to our users for free in the hopes that three things happen.
